Neohumanist Ethics - Universal LOve

The problems of today are not just political, economical or technological problems. They are primarily problems of our values, our commitment to universal compassion and benevolence. Most people stick to ethical principles to justify their actions. When a Pakistani family kills their daughter because they feel she has brought shame on their family, they follow the principle of honor killing and feel justified to do so. When the Nazis killed over six million jews in the gas chambers and concentration camps, they justified their actions with blaming them for the ills and problems of their country. To counter such inhumane thinking, people have promoted humanist ethics, which stress human rights and social equality, along with science and rationality, but even these are not all inclusive, as they see nature as subservient to human welfare. 

Neohumanist ethical principles are centered on universal love - the ever expanding sense of compassion for all living and non-living beings, giving all beings existential rights, even mountains and rivers, forests and the sky. While humanist ethics is fair to humanity, it does not give the same rights to animals, plants and habitats. Neohumanist ethics is all inclusive and as such is truly for the benefit of all beings.

Neo-Ethics in Schools

The basis of education is ethical training.
To promote the values of love in schools, the Neohumanist Institute - Taiwan has produced teaching resources for different age groups:
