Neohumanism -
For the benefit for all beings
|
Neohumanism was introduced by P.R. Sarkar in the years 1981-82 and provides a vision for bringing about a world with respect for nature and people.
As Neohumanism focuses on social justice, equal rights, rationality, universal values and inner wisdom, it asks us not just to change our lifestyle, but our mentality, - from what is termed 'the principle of selfish pleasure' to 'the principle of social equality' or 'love for all.' P.R. Sarkar sub-titled his book on Neohumanism "For the Liberation of Intellect." Neohumanism represents a break with the old ways of thinking of socio-sentiments and geo-sentiments, a break with pseudo culture and the introduction and discovery of universal values. The first step towards the implementation of Neohumanism and the breaking free from our old paradigms, is education. Without a new way of thinking that respects all of living and non-living entities, we cannot really resolve our problems of ecological destruction, violence, and addiction. All over the world schools, and educational projects are being organized to bring this Neohumanist vision to the world. At the Neohumanist Institute - Taiwan we offer a variety of activities, training programs and resources to support the sharing of the vision of Neohumanism. |
Human value must always precede social value.
"in the human society, the importance of a highly powerful and eminent person is exactly the same as that of a disabled or dying patient. No one can be ignored. The slightest injustice done to anyone will contribute to the breakdown of our entire society." - P.R. Sarkar |
